HMD Global has scheduled a launch event in India on June 6 in which the company is highly expected to launch the Nokia 9 PureView and Nokia 1 Plus smartphones. Now according to a new report, the company has scheduled a separate event in Italy as well on the same date i.e June 6. It is expected that HMD Global will launch completely new devices at this event.
NokiaPowerUser reports that HMD Global is hosting a ‘global event’ in Italy to launch completely new devices. The report further reveals that the company might launch the Nokia 2.2 aka Nokia Wasp on June 6 global event.
Apart from Nokia 2.2, Nokia X71 is also rumoured to be announced at the global event. This smartphone was launched in Taiwan in April. It is likely that the Nokia X71 will be launched in China as Nokia 6.2, but the report says that the company might hold a bigger launch event than the event in Italy on June 6.
The report says that the Nokia 2.2 or the Nokia Wasp phone was earlier spotted on US FCC certification. The listing revealed that the phone will come with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage configuration. It will reportedly have 145.96×70.56 dimensions as well. As of now, apart from this, no other specs of Nokia 2.2 are known.
The Nokia X71, on the other hand, is a mid-range phone powered by a Snapdragon 660 Chipset featuring a 6.4-inch FHD+ Punch Hole display. It also sports a 48MP triple camera setup. The phone has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It has a 3,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging and it runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.
Meanwhile, Nokia Mobile India has also posted on the company’s social media accounts. The teaser shows a Nokia phone with a single rear camera along with the caption “See things in a new light”.

In India, the company is likely to launch Nokia 9 PureView or Nokia 1 Plus or both on June 6. The former is the company’s flagship phone with penta camera setup while the latter is is an entry-level Android Go device.
