Lenovo owned Motorola reportedly will launch the successor of last year’s Moto E2 smartphone, dubbed as Moto E3, in India on September 19. It is expected to be available for purchase later this month. Motorola unveiled its Moto E3 smartphone in the UK in July at Euro 99 (approximately Rs 7,351).
“Lenovo will host a special event in India on September 19 where it will unveil the Moto E3. The phone will go on sale in India later this month,” Ken Wong, president, Lenovo APAC, told Gadgets 360.
The Moto E3 has a 5 inch HD display compared to 4.5 inch qHD display of its predecessor, Moto E2. It offers an 8 megapixel camera, bumped up from a 5 megapixel unit of Moto E2. However, like its older sibling, the E3 has a 1GHz quad core processor and 1 GB RAM. Besides, the Motorola Moto E3 has 2,800 mAh battery, 8 GB of storage and a micro SD card slot.
The Moto E3 has a splash proof body and a smudge resistant screen protector. It also has the latest Android Marshmallow operating system.
There is another variant of Moto E3, named as Moto E3 Power, which was released in Hong Kong recently with a huge 3500 mAh battery.
The Moto E3 Power comes with a 5-inch HD (1280x720p) IPS display, 1.0 GHz quad-core Mediatek (MTK6735) processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and expandable storage slot for up-to a 128 GB micro SD card.
Besides, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Moto E3 Power offers 8-megapixel auto-focus rear camera, rear LED flashlight and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video chats. Besides, the smartphone offers Dual SIM, 4G/LTE, WiFi, GPS, a Micro USB port, and a Rear ported speaker (1W).
There is no word from the company but we are also hoping the company to launch Moto E3 Power during the September 19 event as well.
