Adobe Flash Player 11, AIR 3 to arrive next month

The pre-release versions of Flash Player 11 and AIR 3 promise full hardware accelerated 2D and 3D games on the mobile platform.

Adobe is set to release Flash Player 11 and AIR 3 with fresh pack of features to make cross-platform entertainment more prominent. The new versions of both software promise to bring 3D games and premium video streaming based applications to mobile as well as desktop platforms. With new versions of both, Adobe promises to enable providing better mobile web experience and also making best of the current generation hardware &#151 smartphones and tablets.

The pre-release versions of Adobe Flash Player 11 and AIR 3 will bring hardware accelerated 2D and 3D graphics with 1000x faster rendering compared to the Flash Player 10 and AIR 2 versions. This will be possible only through a pre-release version for the mobile platforms that include Android, and BlackBerry OS. Production release of the same are expected to arrive in near future with no definite time-frame.

Users will not have to go through the headache of downloading and installing the Adobe AIR 3 updates separately as the developers can manage the version update independently. The Flash Player 11 promises to bring full frame rate videos in quality and the premium video content will carry DRM protection as well.

In coming few quarters, we can expect to see massively multiplayer online games, real-time trading apps and several other applications that require heavy data. With the new suite of Adobe tools, web developers can create data intensive applications which can easily talk with and manage data pulling from the backend servers. For instance, an application that shows real time updates in the stock exchange figures right on the mobile and allows trading through the same interface.

We can also expect to see some mobile web based and cross-platform applications for the mobile as well as tablet platforms. Everyone is concerned about smoother mobile web experience and conservation of battery life. Well, the Adobe Flash Player 11 and AIR 3 are expected to ship for mobile devices by early next month.
