We have been talking about the Acer Iconia Tab A501 for quite some time, and now the tablet is going to be available in the United States with AT&T for $480 ( about Rs 23,000) on September 18. The tablet is available in India at the price of Rs 32,990.
According to the Acer release, the Acer Iconia Tab A501 runs on 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor along with 1GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory. It has a 5 megapixel back facing camera and front facing 2 megapixel camera on the front. The tablet from Acer is likely to give some good competition to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and will be riding on the 4G, or HSPA+ (high speed packet access) network from AT&T. The Acer Iconia Tab A501 has a 10.1 inch screen, with display Resolution of 1280×800 pixels. The other goodies with the tablet include full-size USB 2.0, microUSB, HDMI port and a microSDHC slot
“ Staying in touch, informed, productive and entertained has never been so easy,” said Sumit Agnihotry, vice president of product marketing, Acer America. “Whether it’s posting a birth announcement on Facebook or staying connected to the office via email, people are connecting more online and in a more personal way. The Acer Iconia Tab A501 with AT&T 4G provides our customers with one of the fastest and most fluid ways to stay on the cutting-edge of technology and at the center of what’s happening in the world today. The Iconia Tab A501 is not only intuitive, but it’s fashionable, which is important to mobile consumers.”
According to a statement from the Airtel chief executive officer, Sanjay Kapoor, the launch of 4G services is likely to take place in the line with the rest of the world. Going by this, as well as the availability of Acer Iconia Tab A501 in India, we are trying to put two and two together. But then, nothing beats the actual results, and there is no real world news when the 4G services will be launched in India.
