Acer announces kids-centric Iconia One 8 tablet

The tablet will be available in North America in the month of February.

Acer has announced its new kids-centric tablet, the Iconia One 8 (B1-850), for $99 (approximately Rs 6,579). This tablet comes with kids-friendly interface and parental controls. The new Iconia One 8 is comes in white or blue back cover options. The tablet will be available in North America in the month of February.

The Iconia One 8 (B1-850) features an 8-inch (1280 x 800 pixel) IPS display with 10-point multi-touch support and is powered by a MediaTek quad-core processor which is paired with 1GB DDR3 RAM. The tablet runs on 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

The Iconia One 8 (B1-850) sports a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. The tablet comes with 16GB of Internal storage, which is further expandable by up-to 128GB via a micro card.

The Iconia One 8 (B1-850) comes with preloaded Kids Center having child-friendly user interface, and pre-screened content appropriate for children, including videos, games, books, and websites. It also features parental control options such as blocking access to unapproved content, pre-selecting content for children, or even setting a daily time limit for using the tablet.
