Gionee has announced its latest smartphone, the Elife S7, at this year’s Mobile World Congress.
According to Gionee, the design of Elife S7 is inspired by the U-shape design of railway tracks. “The Elife S7 features iconic frame design, beautifully merging a high glossy finish and metal effect with two parallel metal light lines. The unique ergonomic side profile provides an extremely comfortable grip for one-handed use,” the company said further.
“The metal used on S7 is aviation level aluminum magnesium alloy, making the skeleton solid and durable with no worry of bending in pockets like competitors’ slim products,” a press release further added.
Both the back and front of the Elife S7 have Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection against scratches. It offers a 5.2 inch Super AMOLED Display with full HD (1920×1080 pixels)resolution. The S7 is just 5.5 mm thick (139.8mmx67.4mmx5.5mm) and has a 13 Megapixel rear auto focus camera and an 8 megapixel front camera. The rear camera has ‘Image+’ image processing system that, as per the company, enables users to shoot stunningly high quality images with easier user experience. “Powered by the Night mode engine of Image+, the device can capture 6 pictures in about 1 second, and compose to 1 picture by adjusting the brightness and image noise,” added Gionee.
The front camera of S7 incorporates intelligent Face beauty 3.0 technology that, according to Gionee, can estimate peoples’ gender and age, and recommend the best over the face beauty effects for more natural selfie photos.
The Gionee Elife S7 has the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system pre-installed and offers the Amigo 3.0 interface. The handset is powered by the 1.7 GHz TRU Octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM. It offers 16 GB of built-in memory.
The S7 is equipped with a 595 density 2700 mAh battery. The dual SIM S7 supports 4G FDD/TDD LTE and 3G WCDMA/TDSCDMA networks.
While unveiling the phone at the event William Lu, president of Gionee, said, “We believe Elife S7 will bring the future of slim smartphones to the next level. To make ever-slimmer phones, compromising on performance and function is pointless. Manufacturers should offer more features benefiting user experience other than just slimness.”
The Gionee Elife S7 will come in Black, White, and Blue. It will be available in India by April 2015.
