In the month of October, 26 mobile phones were launched in India and most of them were based on Android operating system. Here is a list of the handset launched in the past month.
Nokia Asha 309
Nokia Asha 309 comes with a full touchscreen and is based on Nokia S40 operating system. It is priced at Rs 6,349.
It comes with single SIM, 2G network connectivity along with WiFi connectivity. The Asha 309 is equipped with a 3 inch capacitive LCD display with 240 x 400 pixel resolution and a proximity sensor which automatically controls the display while the user is on a call. The devices support up to 32 GB expandable memory and feature 128 MB of internal memory which is further complimented by its 64 MB RAM memory.
The Asha 309 comes with a 2 megapixel fixed focus digital camera with zoom and video capture capability at 10 FPS in Qicf resolution, There’s a video player, music player, and FM radio as well on the device to keep the users entertainer while on the move.

Sony Xperia J
Sony Xperia J was unveiled earlier this year during the Mobile World Congress event in the USA and is now available for purchase in India for as low as Rs 15,666.
The Sony Xperia J features a sleek design along with a powerful set of hardware configuration despite being a mid-range Android smartphone. Xperia J comes preloaded with Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system but will soon be upgraded to Android Jelly Bean in the coming few weeks.

Samsung Guru Music and Guru 1207
Samsung Guru is a basic dual SIM phone priced at Rs 1,730. Billed as the successor of Hero Music, the Guru Music comes with GPRS, Bluetooth, and a dedicated music button.
For Guru Music, Samsung is also partnering with operators to offer free music and game downloads. However, company officials refused to comment on the details about which operator will participate and how many songs people would get for free. Samsung claims that Guru Music’s 1000 mAh battery will provide 12 hours of talk time.
Guru 1207 is another Dual-SIM phone from Samsung that is priced at Rs 1,250 and has features like FM radio and torch. Samsung claims that it has 8 hours of talktime with its 800 mAH battery.

Karbonn Mobiles, in association with MTS India, has launched three new CDMA phones called MTS Turbo B121, MTS Buzz X121 and MTS Rockstar V121.
These feature phones come bundled with features like Facebook integration, MTS Movie Planet, FM radio, WAP support, Hindi keypad, call and SMS blacklist and data protection features.
The three devices also are being offered with one month free subscription of Facebook and MTS Movie Planet, an application that allows users to download full movie, listen to full track video songs, download video song etc.
My MTS planet application, which offers downloading wallpaper, ringtones, and games etc, is also there in these three phones.
MTS Turbo B121 comes with a 4.5cm (1.7 inch) TFT screen, an 1800 mAh long battery, FM Radio, Torch light and Facebook. While MTS Buzz X121 comes with features like a QWERTY keyboard, a 5.1 cm (2.0 inch) TFT Screen, a 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording capability, a 1500 mAh battery, Bluetooth, up to 4 GB expandable memory and Facebook with dedicated key.
The MTS Rockstar V121 comes with a 6.1cm (2.4 inch) TFT Screen, a 1.3 megapixel camera with video recorder, music and video player, an 1800 mAh battery, Bluetooth, upto 4 GB expandable memory and MTS Movie Planet.
The MTS Turbo B121 is priced at Rs 1,999 while both MTS Buzz X121 and MTS Rockstar V121 are priced at Rs 2,800.

MTS, Mtag 353 is a CDMA smartphone. It has Android 2.3, 3.5 inch screen, 800 MHz Qualcomm processor and is priced at Rs 5,999.
Also, MTS is offering 512 MB high speed data (3.1 Mbps) every month for two months, 500 minutes of local and STD calls per month for three months and 1 paisa per 2 second call rate for six months. All the user needs to do is to charge the phone with Rs 154. MTS also offers all its new smartphones subscribers, free access to Mobile TV for 1 month from date of activation.

Karbonn A1+, A7+, A11
Karbonn, an Indian mobile phone brand, has released two very entry level phones, named A1+ and A7+, and a mid-level phone called the Karbonn A11.
The A1+ is the new lowest priced Karbonn smartphone which is available for Rs 4,290. It comes with Android 2.3 operating system, a 3.5 inch screen and a 1 GHz processor. And despite its low price, the phone has proximity sensor, a 3 megapixel camera, 3G, WiFi, and a 1500 mAH battery – which is one of the best on offer from any Indian brand till now.
Karbonn A7+ is also an Android 2.3 based phone with a 3.5 inch screen and 1 GHz processor. However, it boasts a bigger 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, along with a front facing VGA camera as well. The Karbonn A7+ has however a smaller 1420 mAH battery. The asking price for A7+ is Rs 6,990.
The costliest of the trio is the Karbonn A11 which is available for Rs 8,490 is the Karbonn A11 which is based on Android 4.0 and runs on 1 GHz processor. Besides, it has a 4 inch screen, 5 megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash, face detection technology, front 1.3 megapixel camera, and a 1500 mAh battery.

Karbonn A9+ features a 4 inch screen and 1.2 GHz dual core processor from Qualcomm and is priced at Rs 9,290, while Karbonn A21 with similar specification but larger 4.5 inch screen is priced at Rs 10,490.
The dual SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphone, Karbonn A9+ has a 5 megapixel rear camera and 1.3 megapixel front camera. It is based on Android 4.0 ICS operating system and has features like accelerometer, proximity sensor, light sensor, compass, 3D G-Sensor apart from 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. On the battery front it has a 1420 mAH unit.

HTC Desire X
HTC Desire X has a 4-inch Super LCD touchscreen display, and a dual-core 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile processor. It has also added its Beats Audio technology. HTC Desire X is available for best buy price of Rs 19,799.
It has a 480×800 pixel resolution and offering 223 ppi pixel density. It also supports multi-touch interaction. Under the 9.3 mm thick profile HTC has packed a 768 MB RAM to run the HTC Sense 4.0 user interface layered at the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update.
The Desire X supports 3G network and offers up to 7.2 Mbps HSDPA speeds while the HSUPA transfer speeds at up to 5.76 Mbps. It also supports WiFi and offers WiFi hotspot functionality. At the rear, it has a modest 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash. This camera is not capable enough to record 720p HD videos which might be a bit of disappointment for imaging enthusiasts.
HTC Desire X has a 1650 mAh battery which promises about 10 hours of Talk time even over 3G networks.

LG Optimus Vu
LG mobiles launched its first ever 5 inch smartphone – Optimus Vu – in India a couple of weeks back. It is available at online shopping portal for Rs 30,399.
The 5 inch display based Optimus Vu smartphone was announced last year where it created a lot of buzz due to its unconventional display aspect ratio. The phone offers a display aspect ratio of 4:3 which will be much more beneficial for users in terms of entertainment and taking notes.
The LG Optimus Vu has In Plane Switching (IPS) technology based display that sports a resolution of 1024×786. The Optimus Vu features a 1.5 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3, 4 plus 1 processor, 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage as well.

Micromax Superfone Canvas A110, which is the successor of Canvas A100, is now at Rs 9,999. The phone is better than the outgoing model on three factors – screen, camera and processor.
Canvas A110 has a 5 inch screen with 800×480 pixels resolution as its predecessor but in the new model, the screen is an ‘IPS panel’ that offers better viewing angle.

Videocon Mobiles has a new range of feature phones under the ‘Dost’ series which comes with long battery life. Four phones have been launched under the series which includes the V1531+, V1542, V1528 and the V1544.
The Videocon V1542 and Videocon V1544 come with 2.6 inch display while both the Videocon V1528 and Videocon VG1531+ have 2.4 inch display. For long battery life, Videocon V1544 has a 3000 mAh battery, which is huge for a feature phone while the Videocon V1542 is powered by a 1800 mAh battery.
Both the Videocon V1531+ and the V1528 are powered by a 1500 mAh battery.

India based mobile phone maker, Intex Technologies has announced the launch of a new Android phone, called Aqua 3.2. The 3.2 inch capacitive touch screen based phone comes with a 1 GHz processor and is available for Rs 3,790.
