The luxury automobile manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz has announced the launch of its fourth AMG model of the year. Dubbed as the AMG S63 Coupe 4Matic+, the machine falls under the brand’s S-Series and it is priced at Rs 2.55 Crore (ex-showroom) in India.
Rivalling the Porsche Panamera Turbo (2.09 Crore, ex-showroom) and the Bentley Continental GT (3.12 Crore, ex-showroom) it is powered by a 4.0-liter, V8 twin-turbo engine. It is capable of generating 612 bhp of maximum power and peak torque of 900 Nm.
Mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed sports transmission, the machine accelerates zero-100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds. The sedan is claimed to achieve a top speed of 250 kmph, which can go to 300 kmph with the optional AMG Driver’s package.
Other than this, the S63 Coupe comes with the permanent 4Matic+ all-wheel drive with the fully variable torque distribution on the front and rear wheels. However, the sedan offers the new drift mode functionality, which makes it completely a rear wheel drive, for some fun on the tracks.
The two-door coupe gets the new sportier and edged design at the front with the Panamericana grille for larger air-intake. Further, it comes with the 19-inch alloy wheels and the OLED tail light at the rear. Inside the cabin, the car gets the 3-spoke steering wheel, with two 12.3 inch TFT colour display – instrumental cluster and infotainment system including air pressure, engine temperature, engine output, and torque and tyre temperature
