Maruti Suzuki India Limited is all geared up to launch the 2018 facelift edition of the sedan Ciaz on August 20. Earlier we had reported that the car willlaunchin the first week of August.
It is worth noting, that few Nexa dealers in Delhi and Noida have started taking booking for the same with a token amount of Rs 15,000 or Rs 25,000 depending on your location.
To rival the Honda City and Hyundai Verna, the Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the Ciaz in 2014 at a price tag of Rs 7.83 lakh to Rs 11.51 lakh(ex-showroom). Since then the sedan has only been through minor cosmetic tweaks in the rearview mirrors. However, this will be the first time when the machine will be unveiled in a new Avtar.
The Ciaz will now feature new bumpers on both the ends, upgraded smoother grill up front, LED headlamps with the daytime running LEDs, triple-tone dashboard, LED taillight and more. On top of it, the 2018 edition is expected to replace its 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder petrol motor with a new 1.5-litre SHVS (mild hybrid system) unit.
It produces the power of 104.7 bhp and peak torque of 138 Nm, which was earlier limited to 91 bhp of power. The engine will be available with an option of 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. Initially, the sedan will only be available in the petrol variant and later by October, we are expected to see a diesel trim also. For safety, it comes with ISOFIX seats, dual SRS airbags, ESP and ABS, EBD.
