Vodafone has now launched its VoLTE services in Delhi-NCR, Gujarat as well as in Mumbai. The operator says that the same will be launched in Kolkata, Karnataka and other parts of the country in a pased manner.
As of now few devices including that of OnePlus (OnePlus 3, 3T, 5, 5T), Xiaomi (Redmi 4, Mi Mix 2, Mi Max 2), Nokia (Nokia 5, 8), Samsung (C9 Pro, J7 Nxt) and Huawei (Honor View 10, 9i, 7x, 8 Pro) support VoLTE services. It is a matter of time before all VoLTE enabled smartphones support the same.
VoLTE, introduced by Jio in India, basically allows users to make better quality voice and video calls at no extra cost. VoLTE or Voice over LTE network do not consume Mobile Data and Vodafone said that all of its existing plans will support VoLTE services.
How to get started
First make ensure that you have one of the compatible devices mentioned above.
You need to have Vodafone 4G SIM.
Download the latest OS update from your handset vendor.
Ofcourse you need to be in one of the circles where Vodafone VoLTE services are available.
Verify that the VoLTE voice calling feature has been enabled on your smartphone. For iOS: Settings -> Mobile Data -> Mobile Data Options -> Enable 4G ->Voice & Data
For Android: Settings -> Mobile networks -> Turn on VoLTE call.
For users with Dual SIM handsets, Vodafone SIM should be inserted in the SIM slot with data capability and network mode as “4G/3G/2G (Auto)”.
