Google recently announced a new service – Android Device Manager, which enables locating, tracking and securing an Android device. With this service enabled, the user can locate a lost or stolen device, provided the location services are enabled. As of now, the Android Device Manager service is available only for Android 2.2 Froyo.
The new Android Device Manager service comes packaged with the new Google Play Store update. Once the Google Play Store is updated; it is simply a matter of enabling the Android Device Manager service. It’s a pity that this service has not been enabled by default. Also, the service requires enabling Location services.
