Vodafone is now offering unlimited calls, data on international roaming

The brand says that the users who will opt for these packs will not be charged a single rupee for calls and data while roaming in the said countries.

Vodafone India has announced its unlimited international roaming plans for its customers. Under this new offer, the company is offering unlimited data and calls for users travelling to the US, the UAE and Singapore under Vodafone i-RoamFree plan.

Users will be able to choose between different packs which include Rs 5,000 for 30 days, Rs 3,500 for 10 days, Rs 2,500 for 7 days and Rs 500 for every 24 hours. The brand says that the users who will opt for these packs will not be charged a single rupee for calls and data while roaming in above-mentioned countries.

“There is no cap on the number of calls or amount of high speed data that can be used. Also, calls include all incoming calls and outgoing calls anywhere in the world. This means customers traveling in USA can even make calls to Hong Kong at no extra charges!,” Vodafone said in a statement.

Vodafone is certainly not the first to offer such kind of international roaming packs. Airtel, last year, a new International Roaming pack for all popular destinations with a validity of 10 days.

Going into the details, for Singapore and Thailand, the roaming pack starts at Rs 1199 at which you will get unlimited free incoming calls, 2GB data and 250 minutes of free calling to India and 100 Free SMS. Post-exhaustion, the internet will be charged at Rs 3/MB and for outgoing calls, it will be Rs 3/minute.

On the other hand for USA, Canada and the UK, the 10-day pack will cost you Rs 2999 which will come with the same benefits as mentioned above. And Post data and minutes exhaustion, the rates also remain the same in this case. For UAE though, the free incoming calls are restricted to 250 minutes and post that the outgoing calls will be charged at Rs 10/minute both local as well to India.

Further,customers on international roaming Without a Pack will be fully protected from bill shocks through an automatic adjustment that is equal to the daily pack for that particular country. This means that the moment a customer’s billing reaches the price of a one day pack for the country, he/she will be automatically moved to that pack.

Meanwhile, Idea Cellular has also rolled out some new International Roaming tariffs which is bundled with up to 400 outgoing minutes, 100 SMS per day, a certain amount of data volume and unlimited incoming calls. The International Roaming packs range from 10 days for short trips to 30 days for a fairly long stay, abroad. Also, the post-benefit exhaustion charges are as low as Rs 3 per MB.

The packs are categorized under – IR Travel Lite Pack, IR Travel Smart Pack, and IR Travel Plus Pack. Under the Lite Pack, you can pay Rs 1,999 for USA + Canada and get 1GB of data and get Local Calls, Call to India and Incoming Calls for just Rs 5 per minute. The SMS and Overage Data charges are Rs 10 per SMS and respectively. This pack is valid for 30 days. Similarly, we also have options for UK & Ireland and UAE.

Moving on to the IR Travel Smart Pack for short duration such as 10 days, one can get 2GB data, 250 Minutes of Local + India Calls, Unlimited Incoming calls, 100 SMS per day, Data Overage for Rs 3 per MB at just Rs 2999 for US and Canada. The same pack is available for Europe, UK, UAE and Asia with tariffs being different for some of the regions.

Lastly, the IR Travel Plus Pack is for those who are going for a relatively long stay (30 days validity). For US and Canada, one can pay Rs 4999 and get 3GB of data, 400 minutes of Local + India calls, Unlimited Incoming, 100 SMS per day and overage data charges at Rs 3 per MB with a validity of 30 days. Here as well, we get similar options for UK, UAE, Europe and Asia.
