Tecno Mobile makes its Indian debut, launches 5 new smartphones

i5, i5 Pro, i3 and i3 Pro will all be available across 3 states of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Punjab from 22nd April, 2017;

Tecno Mobile, a subsidiary of Transsion Holdings which has brands like itel and Infinix under its portfolio, has made its debut in India with the launch of five smartphones namely Tecno i3 for Rs 7,990, i3 Pro for Rs 9990, i5 and i5 Pro are priced at Rs 11,490 and Rs 12990 and lastly, i7 for Rs 14,990. While i5, i5 Pro, i3 and i3 Pro will all be available across 3 states of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Punjab from 22nd April, 2017; i7 will be hitting the market early May’17. All the smartphones come in colours of Champagne Gold, Sky Black and Space Grey.

The company says that the smartphones are ‘Made for India’, which is reflected through the prefix ‘i’ in the smartphone range. The devices come equipped with a new PIXELEX engine, which is basically a combination of hardware and software to get good quality pictures in low light. Some models like i7 come loaded with Quad LED Flash support, while the selfie camera comes with front LED flash and screen flash, for brighter night selfies. Further, the video chat experience for consumers gets elevated with the option to adjust LED brightness on a video call.

The brand has also said that the smartphones will come loaded with an anti-oil fingerprint sensor, which basically allows users to unlock their smartphone under all Indian and weather conditions. Simply put, if your fingertip is oily, you can still unlock the smartphone. Then there is a Rocket Charging technology, which the company boasts can charge the device from 0 percent to 80 percent in 60 minutes.

Lastly, Tecno Mobile has also introduced a ‘151’ Promise which offers 100 days’ replacement, 50 percent buyback and 1-year one-time screen replacement. The promotional offer is available free for a limited period only.

Jumping straight to specifications, the Tecno i7 comes loaded with a metal unibody and sports a 5.5-inch Full display and is powered by MediaTek MT6750T processor along with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The storage can be further expanded up to 128GB. On the camera front, the device features a 13-megapixel rear camera with a quad LED flash, PDAF and f/2.0, while for the front, there is a 16-megapixel shooter with aperture f/2.0.

The smartphone runs on 7.0 Nougat with company own HiOS UI running on top of it. The device gets its juice from 4000mAh battery and supports fast charging. On the connectivity front, it supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, dual-SIM (hybrid), microUSB and VoLTE and ViLTE.

Coming to i5 and i5 Pro, both the smartphones come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and are powered by MediaTek MT6737T processor. The i5 Pro is backed by 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, while i5 sports 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable in both the variants.

On the camera front, both of them comes loaded with a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, aperture f/2.0 and an 8-megapixel front camera with fixed focus and aperture f/2.0. Both the devices run on Android 7.0 Nougat with company own HiOS UI running on top of it. The device gets its juice from 4000mAh battery and supports fast charging. On the connectivity front, it supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, dual-SIM (hybrid), microUSB and 4G VoLTE and ViLTE.

Lastly, the i3 and i3 Pro comes equipped with 5-inch HD screen and is powered by a MediaTek MT6737 processor. The i3 is backed by 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, while the i3 Pro support 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded. The devices sport 8-megapixel rear and front cameras. Both the devices run on Android 7.0 Nougat with company own HiOS UI running on top of it. The device gets its juice from 4000mAh battery and supports fast charging. On the connectivity front, it supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, dual-SIM (hybrid), microUSB and 4G VoLTE and ViLTE.
