Samsung foldable smartphone to launch on February 20 alongside Galaxy S10

The Galaxy F or Galaxy Foldable smartphone will employ the Infinity Flex Display on the foldable smartphone which is essentially an elastic OLED panel that opens up to a larger 7.3-inch display like a tablet and folds vertically.

Samsung is all set to launch its flagship Galaxy S10 series at an event in San Francisco on February 20. The series will include its flagship phones like Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e. Now along with these smartphones, Samsung will also launch its foldable phone at the Galaxy Unpacked event.

Samsung has confirmed the upcoming launch by releasing a teaser video on Twitter. The tweet reads “The future of mobile will unfold on February 20, 2019.” Through the video, Samsung is clearly telling that it will reveal its foldable phone at its California event on February 20.

The company first teased the device back in November and then showcased it to a limited number of people at CES in January. Recently, an official promo video leaked out https://www.themobileindian.com/news/samsung-gives-a-sneak-peek-of-upcoming-galaxy-foldable-phone-25095, briefly showing off the foldable smartphone.

The Galaxy F or Galaxy Foldable smartphone will employ the Infinity Flex Display on the foldable smartphone which is essentially an elastic panel that opens up to a larger 7.3-inch display like a tablet and folds vertically. The display will have a screen of 2152 x 1536 pixels.

The Galaxy F foldable smartphone will feature a smaller 4.9-inch display with a 1960 x 840-pixel resolution on the outside. The cover will open to a much larger 7.3-inch screen which will have a resolution of 2152 x 1536 pixels, 420 ppi and an aspect ratio of 4.2:3. The device is expected to be powered by the same Snapdragon 855 / Exynos 9820 as that of theGalaxy S10 with onboard storage of up to 1TB. In terms of optics, the Galaxy F will feature dual rear cameras that combine a 12-megapixel sensor and 8-megapixel lens.

Samsung Mobile Division Head, DJ Koh has already revealed that the South Korean manufacturer will initially put one million units of the foldable smartphone for production. The phone will reportedly be priced at around GBP 2,000 (roughly Rs. 1,82,000).
