Nokia 9 PureView India launch will be soon, teases company

Nokia 9 PureView is the world’s first smartphone to feature five cameras at the rear.

HMD Global recently introduced Nokia 9 PureView at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019. Now the smartphone will also be launched in India soon.

Nokia 9 PureView is already available in some markets and is currently being sold in Europe for around €630 which is approximately Rs 49,390. In India, the pricing of the phone will be around Rs 50,000.

The company has posted a teaser on the official Nokia India Facebook page which confirms that the Nokia 9 PureView India launch will happen soon. The teaser essentially shows pictures captured by the Nokia 9’s penta camera setup, with the closing line ‘Stay tuned!’.

Nokia 9 PureView is the world’s first smartphone to feature five cameras at the rear. HMD has partnered with Zeiss for its new penta-camera setup. The setup consists of five 12-megapixel out of which three are monochromatic lenses and two are RGB sensors. The company claims that each camera is controlled individually and all the cameras can take photos simultaneously to offer high dynamic range. For the front, there is a 20-megapixel front-facing camera.

The smartphone features a 5.99-inch pOLED QHD display with HDR support. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone runs on 9.0 Pie. The device is fueled by a 3,320mAh battery that supports fast wired and wireless charging. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor as well. On the connectivity front, it supports VoLTE, WiFi, 5.0, GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, NFC, and USB port. The phone measures 155 x 75 x 8 mm and weighs 172 grams.
