Lenovo has updated its tablet line-up with four new A series tablets with Google Android running on top of it. The new Lenovo A series tablets run Android and are powered by quad-core MediaTek mobile chipsets. Lenovo has integrated the Dolby Audio solution inside these tablets for better audio quality. Lenovo plans to sell these tablets in second quarter of this year.
Lenovo expanded the A-series tablets with four new models – A7-30, A7-50, A8 and A10. Out of these four models, the A8 and A10 are slightly higher end. The Lenovo A8 features 8-inch touchscreen display with 1280×800 pixel resolution and is powered by a quad-core 1.3 Ghz MediaTek MT8121 or option of MT8382 mobile processor. The tablet has a 5 megapixel camera at the back and 2 megapixel camera in the front. Apart from Dolby Digital Audio, the table packs 4200 mAh battery. Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Lenovo will also introduce 3G data only or 3G with voice call supporting variants.
The Lenovo A10 model will have a 10.1-inch display (1280×800) and will be powered by a quad-core 1.3 Ghz MediaTek MT8121 or MediaTek MT8382 mobile chipset. Measuring 8.3 mm thick, the A10 weighs 563 grams heavy. It also packs 5 megapixel camera at the back and 2 megapixel camera in the front. Lenovo has packed 6340 mAh battery inside.
Lenovo A7-30 tablet offers a 7-inch display with 1024×600 pixel resolution. It is powered by a quad-core 1.3 Ghz MediaTek MT8382 mobile processor and has a 2 megapixel camera at the back. There is a VGA camera in the front. Other features include Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi support. This tablet will also integrated the Dolby-enhanced speakers and will offer SIM slot. Similar configuration bearing Lenovo A7-50 will offer 3500 mAh battery and on-board 8 GB storage.
All four Lenovo A series tablets are expected to go on sale from second quarter this year. Based on configuration we estimate that these tablets will be priced between Rs 9000 to Rs 20,000.
