HTC U leaked image shows a glass design in tow

The front sports a near bezel-less display coupled with fingerprint sensor at the base and earpiece, front camera at the top.

HTC is reportedly working on the third instalment of its newly-introduced U series. After launching U Ultra and U Play, the company is all set to unveil the third smartphone which would be named as HTC Ocean or HTC U. Though, we already some key information about the device, but a recent leak shows off the design of the upcoming device.

The image was posted by a renowned tipster Evan Blass and looks a tad similar to HTC U Ultra, which is glass design. The front sports a near bezel-less display coupled with fingerprint sensor at the base and earpiece, front camera at the top.

The back panel seems to boast a glass finish and there is a primary camera sitting at the top of the device, while at the right one could see a volume controls and power on/off buttons. As per a previous leak, the smartphone will come loaded with Sense, a feature which will allow users to interact with the side edges of the screen to start certain tasks and features.

According to a report by Headlines, the leaked material information suggest that user needs to short squeeze the Edge Sense in order to perform tasks like launch Camera, Google Assistant, HTC Sense Companion, or even turning on the Wi-Fi Hotspot. There is also an option to long squeeze as well, which might have some different functionality as well.

Other than this, the smartphone will also feature some enhanced camera with advanced HDR setting such as HDR+, Smart Video Zoom, 3D Audio and Hi-Res recording features. Similar to what we saw in the U Ultra, the HTC U will come with an option record Hi-Red audio and 3D Audio. The HDR+ “Real-Time HDR scene detection”, which might improve the quality of the images. There will be also HTC BoomSound technology and so would its HTC USonic feature. The smartphone will come loaded with and will not feature a 3.5mm audio jack, meaning you need a Type-C port headphones in order to connect it with the device.

As for specifications is concerned, the leaked slide reveals that the smartphone will come loaded with a 5.5-inch WQHD display with 3D Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The device will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and there will two variants in terms of memory and storage. The device will come with 4GB of and 64GB of internal storage and 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

HTC U will run on the latest Android 7.1 Nougat with company’s own Sense Home running on top of it and it will be juiced up by a 3000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. It would be interesting to note, that Qualcomm has already introduced Quick Charge 4.0 and the device is still stuck with an older quick charging technology. Nevertheless, the smartphone will support connectivity options including, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 4.2 and a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button. However, there is no mention about the rear and front-facing cameras, nor there is any information about the pricing and availability of the device.
