Huawei sub-brand Honor has launched the Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max in China. The Honor 8X comes in Black, Blue, Red and Purple colours while the Honor 8X Max comes in Black, Blue and Red colours.
Honor 8X comes in two variants – 4GB RAM with 64GB storage priced at 1399 Yuan which is approx. Rs 14,700 and 6GB RAM with 64GB storage at 1599 Yuan which is approx. Rs 16,795. The pre-orders will begin on September 6 and its sale will start September 11.
The Honor 8X Max also comes in two variants – 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM with 128GB storage priced at 1,499 Yuan which is approx. Rs 15,700 and 1,799 Yuan which is approx. Rs 19,000. It will be available for sale starting September 6.
Honor 8X
This smartphone features a 6.5-inch (2340 × 1080 pixels) Full HD+ 19:5:9 2.5D curved glass display and 91% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by an Octa-Core Kirin 710 (4 x 2.2GHz Cortex-A73 + 4 x 1.7GHz Cortex-A53) with ARM Mali-G51 MP4 GPU. The memory variants are expandable memory up to 400GB with microSD.
The Honor 8X is equipped with a dual rear camera setup of 20-megapixel primary sensor with LED flash, f/1.8 Aperture and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor with 480 fps slow-mo recording. For the front, it has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and AI beautify.
For software, the smartphone runs on an Android 8.1 (Oreo) with EMUI 8.2 and 3650mAh battery with fast charging. It measures 160.4 × 76.6 × 7.8 mm and weighs 175 grams. Connectivity options are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS
Honor 8X Max
This smartphone comes with a 7.12-inch (2244×1080 pixels) Full HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 72 per cent NTSC colour gamut, and 350ppi pixel density. Armed by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 636 processor, it has 4GB RAM. There is also a variant with Snapdragon 660 Chipset and 6GB RAM which will be releasing later in October. It has a fingerprint sensor on the back.
Honor 8X Max has a dual rear camera setup with a combination of 16-megapixel primary sensor along with a f/2.0 aperture,AI scene recognition and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor along with a f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, there is an 8-megapixel front camera with a f/2.0 aperture.
It is fueled by a 5,000mAh battery and runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) wrapped under EMUI 8.2. The connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS. For dimensions, it measures 177.57 × 86.24 × 8.13 mm and weighs 210 grams.
