Asus has rolled out the latest Android Nougat 7.0 update for its Asus Zenfone 3 Laser smartphone. The smartphone was launched in India last year in October with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The update has 14.2015.1701.13 as the built number for the Zenfone 3 Laser ZC551KL smartphone. With this, the handset joins a select list of manufacturers who have been updating the phone for their users. .
Do keep in mind that before you go for the downloading the update, check that battery of your smartphone has atleast 50% charge and 2GB of free space is available as the update is 1.3GB in size. Since the update is being rolled out over-the-air, it may take some time before it comes to your device. One can also manually check for the update by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update.
The Android Nougat brings in other features including split-screen multitasking, more customisable quick settings, improved Google keyboard, enhanced notifications and recent applications window. Further, the latest Android OS version also brings in ‘Double Tap’ on the Recent button to switch between the two most recent apps which come in very handy at times. For extended battery life, Android Nougat comes with ‘Doze on the go’ which will get activated even if your Nougat running device is in your pocket. The Nougat update for Asus Zenfone 3 Laser also enables FET VoLTE and VoWiFi. Of course, most importanly, the update will send a stong signal that your phone is less than 12 months old.

To recall, Asus Zenfone 3 Laser comes with sandblasted aluminium body with rounded sides and diamond-cut chamfered edges. Its 5.5 inch full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display comes with a ‘Bluelight Filter’ which when activated, as per Asus, reduces the blue light emission by 30% making it easy for eyes to read especially in darker environments. Underneath the hood, there is an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 64-bit Processor which is coupled with 4GB RAM. Further, it comes with 32GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 256GB via a micro SD card.

Asus Zenfone 3 Laser has a 13 Megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, laser auto focus, and Electronic Image Stabilization. The second generation laser focus system on the phone, has a range of 1.5 meters, which is twice the distance of other laser focus systems. An 8-megapixel camera is in the phone for selfies. To power up the entire device is a 3000 mAh battery that can last a full day for even the most elaborate user.
